Magic too sharp for Diamonds

Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic opened their 2005 National Bank Cup netball campaign with a convincing 60-51 win over the Auckland Diamonds tonight.

While the two sides were neck and neck in the early stages the second quarter proved the clincher for Magic as they gathered momentum and the visitors went off the boil.

With a halftime lead of 34-26 Magic continued to dominate as Diamond's game fell apart
